Use case

Mostly indoors

Tight spaces, frequent turns, and doorway clearance matter more than top speed or ruggedness.

Quick checklist

What to prioritize indoors

Pick maneuverability and fit first. You can usually “adapt” outdoors later more easily than you can widen doorways.

Must check

  • Overall width vs your narrowest doorway/bathroom path
  • Turning radius in the rooms you use most (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom)
  • Set up to feel controllable in tight turns (not “drifty”)
  • Arm/hand access to pushrims without shoulder strain

Nice to have

  • Moderate camber if it improves pushrim access (but watch width)
  • Caster choice that tracks predictably on smooth floors
  • Scuff protection if you brush door frames often

Red flags

  • Wide tires/camber that force you to “angle through” doorways
  • A setup that feels unstable during slow, tight turns
  • Buying features for outdoor terrain you rarely encounter
